Meeka
This is my sweet little Schnauzer, Meeka, who passed away in 2003. She was 15. She was the tiniest little dog about 11-13 pounds, never fat and always happy. She was the very smartest dog I have ever had and endeared herself to everyone.
I got her when she was 7 months old from the Purebred Dog Rescue. A couple had moved from Texas and could not keep her in their apartment. How lucky for me as we bonded immediately!
Right away I signed us up for a dog obedience school. The interesting thing about dog obedience school is that it is not so much for the dog as it is for the owner. Meeka took to the class like a duck to water and finished first in a class of about 30 dogs! She took first place in the obedience trials at 8 months old, getting 240 points out of a possible 250! She was completely voice and signal trained and could go anywhere without a leash.

Meeka was very social and never showed signs of aggression to any person or dog. She had a job to do every day, she was security dog at her home and alarmed me when someone came to the door or sensed something wrong. She never barked incessantly and when told, would stop immediately or use her "inside voice".
There is so much I could tell you about this dog but it makes me really sad because she was so much like a little kid that I dearly miss her and have not gotten another dog as I don't think that I could ever replace her.
She traveled everywhere with me including small airplanes. I put little earplugs on her and away we would fly! She loved boats and cars spent many hours living in the lap of luxury on a private island where she could run and play. I haven't had as much fun since she has passed going where we used to go.
I have been thinking about another puppy lately and have visited some breeders in my area to look at the puppies but have not been stirred by any of them yet! It has to be the right time and puppy I think! Although I did find one of the mommy dogs to be so sweet and endearing that if they decided to give her away I wouldn't hesitant to take her!
Anyway, this is my little Meeka and I just wanted to share her with others...she is missed so very much. Thanks. Deborah
