Scamp
In 2009 we contacted MSR NW and applied to adopt a miniature schnauzer. We were newlyweds and had been planning on a schnauzer as our first pet for some time. We were contacted soon after and were told about Scamp!
He was thought to be around 6 years old...His age made us hesitate a bit, but the second we met him that disappeared. We took a chance on an almost senior pup and got six and a half years of joy from our sweet boy.
Scamp's favorite activities included napping and patrolling the dog park. He had no interest in playing with other dogs or toys but he liked to intervene when other dogs were playing too rough. His favorite spots were our laps, the passenger seat of the car, and any dog bed, blanket, pillow, or pile of clothes he could find. He adjusted to us having children so well. He was our first child's best buddy.
Loving time: Scamp with his owners
Scamp had some health issues throughout his time with us - two mast cell tumor removals, two bouts of old dog vestibular disease, and finally a brain tumor that brought on a slow decline in his health followed by a sudden downturn. He passed in my arms on July 9th, 2016.
We are so thankful to MSR NW for giving us the gift of Scamp. We loved him very much.
Thank you for the work you do! Scamp enriched our lives in so many ways.
