Izzy's Happy Tail....
Miss Izzy aka Peaches
Note from MSR (the Rescue): Jonnie Hart of MSR fostered her. This was the worst puppy mill case she had ever seen. Peaches would only drink ground water. She didn't know what a door was and it was only because of the Papillons that she would come in from the yard. If you walked toward her, she would turn tail (such as it is) and run to a corner and curl up.
Rescue took in two of her litter mates later that same year. Bonnie and Clyde. They were purchased by a couple who realized the dogs needed more than they could give them. When I first saw Bonnie and Clyde , I realized they could have come from the same breeder because of the way the tails were docked. Sure enough, having the AKC papers on all three, they were litter mates. Three pups from a litter of four is some kind of record. Both Bonnie and Clyde had been raised well by the folks who bought them. They were well adjusted and trained.
Young Izzy (formerly Peaches)
On April 3, 2004, we went to Jonnie Hart to pick up Miss Izzy Peaches. She had been sold to an elderly woman at 4 months of age. Peaches wasn't a fun puppy. She hide under chairs and wouldn't eat. The breeder refused to take her back, so she was given to the rescue. Turns out Peaches was a very sick little pup . She had whip worms, a deformed uterus, and serious emotional problems. After about 1and 1/2 yrs. of love and lots of care, Peaches finally started gaining weight and confidence. Peaches is now 2 and 1/2 yrs old. She is the sweetest and most lovely pup we have ever had. She is very healthy and so loyal. We are so blessed she is apart of our family. She is worth all the time and effort put into her. We are so very proud of her.
