Ladybug's Happy Tail....
Merry Christmas, little Ladybug!
Every now and then, a story comes along that is so compelling that it has to be told. Ladybug's story is one of those!
Ladybug lived with her original owner all of her life - twelve years to be exact. And then she found herself looking for a new home at a frightening point in her life. Her owner, 83 years old, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He deteriorated rapidly over a six month period, and was forgetting to care for Ladybug. His niece and the doctors at the assisted living facility thought it best if Ladybug was released to Miniature Schnauzer Rescue.
Ladybug investigates....
Ladybug's foster parents were very skilled at reading this little one . . . and patiently waited for her to transition to new people in her life. When she did come around she was a wonderful companion . . . completely loving and trusting. And when her new Mom came to meet her, it was love at first sight. Ladybug's foster parents said, "It's amazing how you can tell right away when it is a perfect match. It was hard to give Ladybug up as she was just the perfect dog (except her habit of scratching the rug trying to make a den). We came very close to becoming a "Foster Failure" by adopting her ourselves!"
Ladybug loves her bed
Sherri, Ladybug's new Mom continues her story. "When I first saw Ladybug, I knew she was going to be the little friend I had been looking for. When I picked her up from her foster family, it was kind of sad because she stared out the window as we drove away. When we got to the apartment, she looked at the three flights of stairs like you have got to be kidding, but she managed. She settled into the routine of her new home very quickly, and settled into her new doggie bed just as quickly. Ladybug is hard of hearing, so she didn't seem to have any problems with outside noises, and very little barking. Now she "talks" to me if she needs to go outside, or is hungry. Ladybug loves everybody she meets, and loves to greet other dogs on our potty walks.
This little girl is such a joy . . . I can't imagine not having her in my life! I am so glad I took a chance on a senior dog. Ladybug still has a lot of spunk - and can actually be kind of sassy every now and then. She is doing great - I love her so much!"
Thanks so much,
Sherri

A special little dog - and a very special new Mom. It takes a very kind heart to welcome a little senior into your life. So we wish Ladybug and Sherri a very Merry Christmas!
