Phoebe's Happy Tail....

Loves to Travel

Phoebe guards her yard Phoebe (formerly "Sanaa") was released to Miniature Schnauzer Rescue, along with her sister Keyjani. Their family had merged with another . . . and with five kids from 12 - 22, there was no time or money to take care of them. Both girls needed shots and spays. Phoebe's foster parents said, "she is a very timid little girl until she gets to know you. Then she is protective and extremely loving. She loves to cuddle and play with her toys. She will make someone a great little companion."

Phoebe's new Mama continues her story! "I decided to sign up for Miniature Schnauzer Rescue because I have had such a wonderful experience with my sweet Mollie (also a Mini). Honestly, I couldn't really imagine that anyone could give up their Mini Schnauzer and neither could anyone who knew Mollie. But I read the stories and decided to go for it.

I met little Phoebe at her foster family's home, and I brought the "rest of the pack" with me; Mollie, Bonnie (my sister) and Livee (my sister's Border collie). I knew Phoebe would need to get along with everyone if she came to live with me. It all worked out well, and Phoebe moved in the next day. From the minute she got here, she let everyone know that she was to be part of everything; all of the toys were hers and most importantly, nothing would get in the way of snuggling on the couch, her favorite pastime.

Phoebe has had many adventures since coming to live with me, and each time we do something new, I see her confidence grow. We go to the doggie gym and she gets to run through the tunnels, jump over the jumps and play with the other dogs. The first time we went to the gym, I saw Phoebe act like a confident little dog who was happy to do "dog things". She was proud of herself and it was a joy to see.

Phoebe has been to the Saturday market where she was the most popular dog . . . she looked so darn cute with her new haircut. Everyone commented on her size and cuteness and of course no one could resist a little pat on the head, even after a warning that she might not like it. She handled it like a star and lived up to her cute appearance. It was the first time that Mollie wasn't the star.

Most recently we traveled to the coast. Phoebe made it home without being shaky, nervous or car sick . . . Yea Phoebe!!! She had fun running on the beach, playing with Livee and Mollie, visiting grandma and charming Uncle Mike. We had to check Uncle Mike's suitcase before he left because I thought I saw a little gray wiggly tail sticking out . . . he had promised her many dog luxuries if she would move in with him.

Phoebe and I still have some challenges to overcome, most notably getting along with little people and transitions. I plan to continue with dog obedience and give her many opportunities to experience dog things so that she can become a secure and confident dog in a variety of situations.

Thank you for Phoebe!
