Rodi's Happy Tail....
Wonderfully sweet and cuddly!
Rodi has been here in his forever home almost six months now and it seems like he's been here forever. He settled
in from the first minute. It took him a couple of days to learn how the doggy door works and now he takes full
advantage of it many, many times a day.
Rodi loves watching for squirrels in the yard, passing cars, and yes
(I'm trying to train him not to do this) even kids walking by. He will immediately run outside and bark while
running along the fence. I'm sure he's convinced they only left because he chased them away. He even loved
the record snow we had this winter.
It took about a month for a bond to form between Rodi and Ari, my other
rescue dog, an American bull dog/Doberman mix. Ari was still grieving the loss of my beloved Epi, his lifelong
pal and mentor, who went over the rainbow bridge in early September. Now Rodi snarls and nips at Ari every
time he knows we're going for a walk. They both love our twice daily walks and Rodi literally says "woo-hoo"
just before we go. He used to bark at everyone along the way but he has learned from watching Ari that being quiet
will bring lots of praise and petting from the kids we encounter. And he's almost past his insistence on pulling.
Rodi is a wonderfully sweet and cuddly dog and if I could ever teach him to Baa he would be very convincing
as a little black lamb.
